The Department of English and the Alice Coonley Higgins Institute for Arts and Humanities, in partnership with the Worcester County Poetry Association, are proud to present the 2024 Stockmal Reading featuring Mary Bonina, a Worcester native and the author of “My Father’s Eyes: a Memoir” and the poetry collections “Lunch in Chinatown,” “Clear Eye Tea,” and “Living Proof.”

Light refreshments will be served, followed by a book signing.

The Gregory Stockmal Reading was established in 2009 by the Worcester County Poetry Association, in cooperation with Carol Stockmal, to continue Greg Stockmal’s efforts to honor American poet Stanley Kunitz and his legacy in Worcester. Each year, the poetry association partners with a local college or university to present a poet connected Kunitz (1905-2006), who was born in Worcester and received many honors, including the Pulitzer Prize and the National Medal of Arts, and was Poet Laureate of the United States in 1974 and 2000.
